An Open Letter: For the Ones Who Always Mean Well

Stay kind. 🌻

That’s something I whisper to myself a lot. Even when it’s hard. Even when people misunderstand me, take advantage of my softness, or question my intentions. I remind myself to stay kind. Because that’s who I want to be.

Sooooo

To anyone who chooses kindness, even when it’s not returned…

To the ones who stay soft in a world that keeps trying to harden them…

This is for you.

Some people don’t realize how much strength it takes to be the bigger person.

To stay calm when you could explode.

To walk away when your pride is screaming to stay and fight.

To give people grace, even when they don’t always deserve it.

There are people out there… quiet ones, gentle ones, who carry a heart full of genuine intention. They never mean harm. They do their best not to hurt others. They overthink before they speak. They replay conversations in their head, wondering if they said too much or too little. They carry the weight of making sure everyone else is okay… sometimes at the cost of themselves.

They’ll say “I understand” even when they’re the ones hurting.

They’ll stay silent just to keep the peace.

They’ll forgive without an apology.

And they mean well. They always mean well.

But here’s the thing:

Being that kind of person can be exhausting.

It’s a quiet kind of exhaustion. The kind that builds up from always trying to do right by others, from always being the one who bends. And sometimes, these people grow distant. Not out of spite, not out of anger. But out of self-preservation. Because constantly choosing grace takes energy. And sometimes, they run out.

Still, they don’t stop caring. They never really do.

So if you know someone like this, someone who always shows up with a kind heart, even when the world doesn’t give them much in return… hold on to them. Appreciate them.

Because their kindness isn’t weakness.

It’s courage.

And the world is better because they keep choosing to be this way.

Always,

Prei
